Yale undergrad degree. UPenn Medical School: a laboratory technician in the Biochemistry department, running animal surgery and cell signaling experiments. That lab background is the throughline: a decade of medical and pharmaceutical writing, then founding LocusEDU and building SelfTech, an iOS biofeedback app, from the ground up.
Still building. Still learning new things. If your project needs someone who can move between disciplines, let’s talk.

What’s a “biotechnologist”
Individual skills don’t surprise people. The range stacked together does.
Most people who call themselves multi-disciplinary have one strong lane and two decent ones. Cyndi has three genuinely deep ones: documented years of daily professional writing, that’s one field. A shipped software product with real architectural sophistication, that’s another. And media design work that’s neither of those.
None of it reads as dabbling. The GameplayKit reuse in SelfTech isn’t “took an online course,” it’s a documented engineering decision. The writing isn’t a handful of blog posts, it’s years of daily output for a professional industry audience. Even the reviews back it up with specifics, timeliness, appearance, and quality, rather than generic praise.
So “biotechnologist” is the frame around the skill stack.
Designing what’s new while protecting what’s old — embracing modernism without letting it erase the history that made it possible.
